Nursing Degrees
Nursing is a growing occupation and is expected to grow more over the next few decades with a lot of baby boomers needing medical care. A nurse help support the doctors, that includes physicians, general practitioners, surgeons and are the ones who often provide medical care.
Types of Nurses
The most common types of nurses are:
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) - LPN work under the direction of a doctor or a registered nurse. (RN) In California and Texas, LPNs are referred to as licensed vocational nurses (LVN).
- Registered Nurse (RN) - RN work in a number of settings, ranging from outpatient homes to the hospital. They can also supervise LPN and LVNs.
Becoming a LPN or going from a LPN to a RN is a lot easier than in the past. There are a number of nursing schools online as well as offline. Companies have recognized the increased demand for nursing and have made nursing classes online more accessible and affordable.
