Are you interested in a career in health care? Would you love to work closely with other health care specialists in acute care wards, private homes, public schools or long-term care facilities? If so, you should consider a career as a Practical Nurse.
The Practical Nursing diploma program at CDI College will prepare you to work in medical, surgical and rehabilitation care in a variety of positions. This comprehensive 51-week training program prepares you to assume the fundamental duties and responsibilities of a Practical Nurse. The curriculum adheres to the standards laid out by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia and the course work combines both classroom learning and lab work. Through a series of Nursing Arts courses, you will learn both holistic and clinical practices. You will also gain hands-on experience through three supervised practicum placements in acute care facilities, gerontology ward and community medical care centers.
At the end of your third practicum placement, you will participate in a preceptorship and job search training, to help transition you from student to graduate.
